KEG

KEG, or Kingsway Education Group, was founded in 2014 at the Royal Alexandra Hospital (located on Kingsway avenue) in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. The premise was/is to review and consolidate new literature into a digestible, fun, and easy format that builds upon textbook principles. The target is emergency physicians, however, the themes are certainly applicable to many others in medicine and surgery. Few physicians enjoy diving into the boredom of medical literature, yet many want to be up to date with the latest and greatest. To date, KEG is a one-man show, but the "group" designation is intended to recruit other contributors to the program as it grows. If education can be entertaining, then the goal of edu-tainment has begun. If you learn something and have a laugh, then the quota has been met. Thanks for your interest.

Who am I?

My name is Dennis Lefebvre. I am a full-time emergency department physician at the Royal Alexandra Hospital (RAH). The RAH is a tertiary level, inner-city hospital in downtown Edmonton. We see over 73,000 patients per year including major trauma and pediatric patients. I am an Assistant Clinical Professor at the University of Alberta where I pursue my academic interests. I completed undergraduate (B.Sc., 1998), graduate (Ph.D, 2003) and medical school (M.D. 2007) at the University of British Columbia before relocating to the University of Alberta to complete Emergency Medicine residency training (FRCPC, 2012).
